The School community that records the most Zaps within a 4 week period recorded from 1st May to 1st December 2024
– WINS!
We know teachers are extremely busy and don’t have the bandwidth to take on any more ‘work related’ commitments, so we (The Actives and a number of pilot schools) have shaped The Actives Challenge to empower the parents to be the key drivers behind this award winning inititiative.
Progress through the challenges
Fill your achievement bar to unlock new levels
Redeem your zaps for rewards
Have a
positive impact
Children will be able to see their progress in real time as they showcase their ‘eco-healthy’ lifestyle actions via achievement bars. The bars will fill as the child gets Zapped by their parents for demonstrating their ‘eco-healthy’ behaviours based on The Actives Challenge’s 5 x core areas.
In order to help keep the children engaged and motivated to want to adopt new healthy lifestyle habits e.g. trying a new vegetable for the very first time, The Actives Challenge has been developed to represent a ‘digital gaming’ experience.
Earn and collect badges as individuals/classes complete each level. Some inculde ‘double challenge day’, or ‘challenge streaks’, when a child completes multiple challenges in one day.
Each challenge earns children ‘Zaps’. Children will be able to accumulate ‘Zaps’ and use these as currency to access rewards, prizes and discounted merchandise.
Zaps
Zaps are the inclusive term for when parents reward their children.
Zaps unlock prizes and rewards based on positive behaviours and actions, relative to The Actives Challenges.
The Zaps are assigned in a points-based rewards system. Children will be able to accumulate Zaps and use these as currency to exchange for rewards provided by their school, parents and/or a sponsor.
Leaderboards
Children can challenge themselves and others by completing actions, gaining Zap points, earning rewards, and topping leaderboards.
